Welcome to sachishiba.com! This site is dedicated to shiba inu lovers all over the world. Shiba inu is the smallest of the six Japanese native breeds (Akita, Hokkaido, Kai, Kisyu, Shiba, Shikoku). All these breeds have been designated as natural treasures of Japan (shiba inu in 1936). In the US, shiba inu was recognized by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1993, and joined the non-sporting group. According to the 2005 AKC statistics, there are 1,604 shiba inus registered, 66th among 154 AKC recognized breeds.

My shiba inu's name is 'Sachi', and it means 'happiness', 'good luck', or 'blessing' in Japanese. True to her name, Sachi is a very happy dog. She earned her AKC Obedience Companion Dog (CD) title in 2005. Sachi is the 88th Shiba Inu since 1992 to be awarded this title. In 2006, she earned her AKC Rally Novice title (RN). She also passed AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test in 2003.
